wow okay guys im flippin 16 okay? i dont expect to know all of this **** and i hope you guys feel the same away..if im just gonna get laughed at for asking questions about my car then i can find another website ****. Im sure you were the same way at age 16...

This is the method that I use. A piece of wire, chopstick, etc., and looking at the rockers.

But that was 10 years ago and I've came a long ways since then lolAlso, it's not quite what it sounds by sticking your finger over the spark plug hole (not in it). You do that and have someone tap over the car to slowly turn over the engine (pull the coil wire off the coil so it doesn't try to start). When air pushes your finger out, you're on the compression stroke and just have to get it completely on top dead center. Usually you turn the motor over by hand (with a socket on the crank bolt and a good sized ratchet) until it it's not pushing out air. If it starts sucking your finger in, it's on it's way down the cylinder and you need to go back a bit
