My gas tank is currently out of the car, sitting at my mechanics garage. With that said, a good chunk of the work is done. Engine is done. Tranny is done. Paint and body work is done. Interior upholstery and panels are done. Wheels and tires are sitting here waiting to be thrown on. It was a huge project for me, to say the least.. So, hopefully, I can work plenty of part time jobs and go for round two in about a month (man, that would be a great present for Christmas for me).. hehe.

Very nice work! I love all the attention to detail. I especially like the steering wheel radio control deletes, I thought about doing something like that myself.

wow...the dash in leather looks great! I like what you did with the steering wheel controls too. The T-Bar area looks great too, however, Im still not sure what all is powdercoated up there? And the bar itself has an adhesive applied something or other on it?

anyway...This guy is going to town on this formy! Cant wait to see exterior body shots! Good work man!

I let em dry and then did my best to restore em to a "like new" finish.. took about an hour of my time with the help of a high powered heat gun. Viola.. They look nice and glossy now. They came out pretty darn good and almost don't look like the same pair of trunk panels..

so...how exactly did you do this? washed them with dawn and then heated them up with a heat gun? how does that work???

Hey guys... Thanks for ALL of the positive feedback! It's very motivating for me to hear. On a side note, I have a personal loan from my bank that's going to be paid off in Mid November. That means an extra $250 bux in my pocket (a month). Every little bit helps (especially on a cops salary)! ..lmao! As for the plastics, yes, that is correct.. I washed em down, dried them off, applied heat to the plastics and let them cool down.. The result was a "like new" finish. Not sure exactly what occurs (on a molecular level?) but the results are very promising, to say the least.. A quick google search shows it as a popular method for restoring plastics. You just have to be careful not to "overheat" the plastics (or melting can occur).

It keeps em.. but dont keep the heat too long in one area or it will melt the plastic / warp the plastic.. just google this little tip. Several videos are on the net of people showing how its done.

There are absolutely no updates.. I need to find someone who legitimately wants to help me finish this car so I can get her back on the road.. I need a full brake job, replace my fuel lines from the fuel filter forward, someone who has experience replacing window motors..

Hey Draggin97s10 - I can appreciate your opinion with the cops.. But encouragingly, it sounds like you can look past my job to see I am just a good ole boy with a fondness of the 4th Gen 'Birds.. I'd be the first to admit that I enjoy being behind the wheel and having plenty of accelerator to work with : )

Thanks for the encouragement bro!

Not a problem. actually ive become friends with several cops which has kept me out of jail about 10 times. But i had to go there alot to get that way. Funny how that works.
Your work is of professional quaility. Nothing better than to see someone taking there time. Love the work.

Very sorry to see something like this happen, but it seems you rolled with life's punches and are coming out on top. Great work and hope to see pics of a completed project!
