My daily driven vette shifts at 6850 (more often than I would have thought according to my data logs not factory tach) and I have over 20,000 miles on that stock GM OPTI. I guess I'm just lucky.

I will admit that a couple of years ago I was looking into replacement ignition options and would have spent the money, but a couple of (highly respected LTX professionals) told me I'd be wasting my money.

i justposted a thread awhile back about opti vs. Delteq, and from what i gathered, opti is great as long as you take care of it and do the initial instillation correctly (i.e. thread locker) so thats what im gonna stick with, if it can handle 9's it can handle me

MSD opti? They have been know to have issues. The cap and rotor are of nice quality, no idea on the base. You should always thread lock the rotor screws, regardless of what brand opti you have. AC Delco/Delphi opti's are the only distributors I use.

I have the LTCC for when I swap in my h/c motor & LT's, I like the LTCC because with each cylinder having it's own coil misfires should be nil plus the LTCC has a two step and timing retard for nitrous or boost and other options which the stock opti does not.
