Sure the location sucks, but take care of your leaks, thread lock your rotor screws, tuck your wires away from the headers...and you're good thousands upon thousands of ignition trouble free driving.
Don't waste your money on expensive conversion kits. The stock ignition system is more than efficient for most peoples needs. It's even gone single digits down the quarter.

You gotta take care of something you regularily beat up, and thats hard for some people to grasp.
The thing most people fail to consider when talking up these "opti delete" things is.
You still need a functional opti!
In order to use these fancy "opti delete" kits.
Stock opti works fine if the mechanic is competent, works great for me.

One of my vehicles has more than 153,000 miles on it and its still the original OPTI. I probably could improve performance some with a new cap and rotor but I want to see how many more trouble free miles the factory OPTI has in it.

Were you using AC Delco or Delphi opti's? Did you thread lock the rotor screws (very key)?
Not really concerned with what you have SEEN. I'm just telling you what I have experienced. It is well documented that the opti's don't like high rpm. Guess it's just hit or miss. Unfortunatly I spent too much money replacing opti's before I found the LTCC.
i got the ltcc for my build but it was too good a price to pass up. 500 for EVERYTHING how could i pass that up id spend more upgrading my current ignition. + individual coils per cylinder is better and im hopin it keeps me from havin to deal wit opti problems
