You have 20 minutes run time, I would change it anyway and see what it takes. I run the long M1-302 filter and mine takes 6 quarts to fill.

yeah im going to do that either tomorrow or friday and fill it up with 6 full quarts and see where i stand. thanks guys

I also run 6qts in mine with the extra capacity filter. 5 1/2 qts will show 1/2 on the dipstick, 6 puts it at the top.

wow i had No idea that a half a quart of oil or so would bring up the level on the dipstick that much. i guess ill be running 6 quarts of oil! thanks guys for the responses i just didnt know what was wrong

sorry. its just that i get real cautious when it comes to things like that. especially my fully built engine. its just that sometimes i get fed up and just say"**** it" and do it lol which is what happened here
