i thought it was obvious that he had bigger problems right now than his rear gears.

Looks like the problem is gears. Not so much the rear ones but the six behind the motor. Swap them to four and be happy with your thirteen second car.

5/6 speeds impress high school kids. Autos win races.

I vote auto mainly because if you DD it and want to track it, you get the best results in both area's with auto.

No shifting gears around town in stop and go traffic, especially with the steep gears you run in 6 speeds [410's] and also stalled auto's are dig monsters.

thats 2 +'s and no negatives if you ask me!

if it hasn't already been mentioned.... if you have taken the elbow off the tb then make sure it is correctly seated back on the tb. i put mine on crooked once to where a portion of it was blocking the tb opening as well as letting unmetered air into the engine and i ran the same kind of times you are.

har har har lol. I have never tried this track crap before lol. I have always been street...different world IMO. I am learning, but even on a poor launch I should still hit 14's...not low to high 15's...I hate auto's...they bore me. I like the constant playing with it during traffic, etc. I like being in full control...I can't stand the mundane life an auto gives you lol. I would go nuts, plus, this car is not being built just for race...

i think with a crappy launch that car should be in the high 13s it should be in the 12s if everythings workin ok thats y i think there's somethin wrong other than 60'

I was giving it leeway for ***** and grins when I said 14's...I mean some of my laubches were pretty bad lol. I will be tearing into my engine next week to figure this thing out...once back together I am getting it tuned again and dyno'd...after that installing a new clutch, new chrome-moly pushrods, checking my adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and heading back to the track to try again...

Troll!

M6 or A4 it doesn't matter, his car is still trapping a solid 10-15 mph slower than it should be

even if he was shifting 1000 rpm less than he should have been, the OP still should have cracked 100mph

having to launch it at 3500+ otherwise it wants to stall is a pretty big problem in itself, the cam isn't that big

The point of this thread is that his car has problems and a ******* A4 isn't the recipe to fix it, so like i said

Something's wrong. My car won't start, but I think it would run 15's if I just pushed it off the jack stands.

And be happy with your six speed. Unless you're solely interested in drag racing, they make for a much more enjoyable driving experience, in my opinion.
