You seem to have a lot of problems with PCM's, LOL.

Maybe take it to a dealership and see if they can flash a stock tune on it No idea other than that.

Mine did the same thing.

The pcm is toast , you will have to have it fixed, you have to sodder something inside the pcm or just replace it.

I sent mine to AKM cables, Andrew fixed me up, or one of the other LT tuners

I feel for ya, i had made one pull on the dyno , then my labtop died. I ran home to get a the charger for the labtop. When i got back to the dyno the car wouldn't start, had to to back home to get the trailer.

Maybe you could call one of the tuners and fine out what needs to be sodderd and do it yourself at work?

don't understand this some times. i have an extension cord, this guy has an extension cord, does op have an extension cord? if you are going to do something that requires your laptop not to die and there is an outlet within 20 ft or less, why not plug it in so it won't fail?

hope you get everything fixed up quick cheap and easy op, and go buy a damned extension cord!

I had the same problem except mine was OBDII and failed using a handheld programmer. Talk to Ion at madtuner he can fix your pcm for a nominal price. I think I paid $40 to get the stock tune reloaded on the computer.

I had this happen to me. your pcm is toast. you need to send it out to get fixed. I had ion fix it for me. What they can do when they put the new flash chips in is make it so instead of un soldering them from the board if it happens again you can just unplug the old flash chips and plug in the new ones. I had that done for some additional money.

Get a power inverter. It plugs into your cigarette lighter and you can carry it with you when you are driving to do your data logging also. You only need a small one; laptops only draw a small amount of current.
Being anchored to a fixed 120v source seems a bit umm, inefficient to me.

Madtuner also sells used PCMs. You could keep one in the car; we did that when I worked for a company developing software for the PCM.

I too had Ion at madz28 put removable chips in a pcm after I froze it once.

My understanding is that the info for how to reflash is on the same chips that the tune is. That information get loaded into RAM. If something happens after the chips are erased and the RAM gets dumped then the pcm no longer has the information to handle the reprogramming. So the chips need to physically be desoldered from the board and put in a flashing fixture and rewritten.
As covered you can pay extra and have a socket put on so the chips plug in instead of solder, that way next time you can send 2 tiny little chips instead of a whole pcm.

If someone has any corrections please post them. This is just the understanding this dumb carpenter has of the situation.

Yeah you dont even to have to remove the chips to reload them, only if you want to socket them. And yeah its a lil hard to run an extension cord out the building and through the parking lot at work...always use one when at home...my problem was my laptop had a bad battery and would only run of the power supply...i had an inverter but somehow lost power ,in which killed it...but lucked out got another pcm right after work ..and best of all...have a new laptop battery
