yea it was locking but I didn't want it to...I had the shifting tune from the old motor in the computer...this motor starts making power where the old one was about to blow up lol...so if I do end up locking the converter its going to happen up at about 7600 not 6500. Eventually this car will be shifting at 7600-7800 this should actually put me in my powerband. I was just trying to fix the starting line problem and I only got three runs so I never got to fix the shift point issues.

That car is sick! One of the best sounding Lt1s I have ever heard, and runs damn well.

Wow, congrats on the initial passes. You have mid 10 sec potential with ease. What kind of power did it put down? Did you dyno it?

Nice to see the first few passes didn't go too badly considering the large change in output. It can be tough when you have a significant amount of weight, and don't have much tire under the car. I'm confident Mike can get the car mostly sorted out in the next couple months & then we can work on refinement changes.

Better than high 10's & high 12X's... despite the ported stock manifold.

I believe Mike said he'd gone to a local shop with a land and sea dyno to work on the tune under load. I don't recall the #'s off hand, but they aren't going to be comparable to anything else. I'm sure once there is time he'll find a dynojet so that the data is halfway meaningful.

Glad you guys like it. Thanks for the business & hard work, Mike!

Default Land and sea dyno numbers

The car wound up making 426 at 7300 rpm. But like phil said this dyno puts out odd numbers. For example I went 11.40 @ 121 last year with my old setup at 3470 Lbs and I only rolled 349 @ 6500 at this same dyno. Once I get the car straightened out at the track I'm going to tAke it to a dyno jet I found about an hour and a half away so we can get some real numbers. I'll post up more video from my trip to the track this weekend.

Great job on that motor. Outstanding selection of parts. I was drooling on my screen looking at the pictures, and had to change my underwear after I watched your passes at the track. The AI guys are phenomenal. I love the way my car runs on their products. I'll dyno my car one of these days to see where I'm at, but your setup sure raises the bar.

Well I went to the track on sunday and had some trans problems. The car kept shifting at 6800 then when I told it to shift at 7600 it just decided not to shift and went right to the limiter at 8000 and also shifted into overdrive at 7150 in third. Apparently the stock OBDI computer cant even count above 7150 rpm let alone control the transmission. Solution; full manual valvebody kit and a B&M Pistol Grip Pro Stick Shifter will be here and be installed by this weekend! Maybe I can finally get some real numbers out of this car!

Yup, obd1 is kind of useless past 7100rpm, manual would be the way to go since your already running a FAST setup.

That is a nice setup. I was thinking as I read this that your pcm / trans wouldn't like those kind of rpms.
