What Kind Of Fuel Pump
ok i wanna get more fuel & i was looking at a granatelli fuel pump but i have also heard of walbro. what would be better for a 96 z28?

They are all 255lph Walbros. I purchased the Granatelli years back, and that is exactly what it was.
The advantage of the Racetronix kit is that it comes with a heavy duty wiring harness and 40A relay. Easy to install and it insures full voltage and current at times of high demand (such as when the throttle becomes a switch rather than a slider ). The stock harness is marginal for the stock pump and is not strong enough for a high current pump such as the Walbro.
Also, the fuel sock on the Racetronix is much larger (in area) than the Walbro, and the supplied hose will not kink like a standard Walbro hose.

The one thing I recommend is that you do not go directly to Racetronix. The don't even have a phone number listed, and are slow to respond if you have an issue.

I built my own hotwire kit, it was very simple and works great. I have a 10awg wire running to the back of the car from an amp I had. all I did was add a relay that is trigered off the fuel pump power wire (gray) found behind the rear seat. I tested the voltage going to the pump before the mod and it was 11.8 volts, after the mod the pump now sees 13.8 volts....
simple and worked great!

You can do it yourself, but be very careful. You are talking quite a bit of current here (the Walbro draws almost 10A at full load, so at 13.8 volts you are talking almost 138 watts of power). And take care in the placement and the quality of your connections. Racetronix uses the very finest connections, what I would consider military quality (worked for them over 10 years as an electrical engineer) and weatherproofs everything, such as the relay, the interface to the factory wiring, and the absolutely required fuse at the beginning of the 10 gauge line.
I personally could only match their price using their quality of components, I could not beat it (I know, I looked, and I have the skills to do the work).
Especially do not go cheap on the relay, it is the most important part of the system.

It's already been echoed here but +1 for the Racetronix route.. I ended up taking my rear suspension down and removed my fuel tank. I got everything back together and re-installed it.. When I cranked it with the new pump, I realized that I didn't properly seat that little fuel arm/rail properly so it looked like I was on empty even though I had 1/2 a tank full of gas.. UGHHHHHH! So I had to drain 1/2 a tank of gasoline and re-drop my entire rear suspension AGAIN... OMG! That was a very dark day for me.. haha. The fuel pump kicks azz but me.... not sooo much. LMFAO!
