Default Over Heating After Lt1 Swap.

Friend just put a 94 LT1 from a vette in a 87 monte,
Was overheating after swap - Did following procedures/changes.
Bled system , New B-cool rad , black majic fan , installed surge tank and routed all coolant as in stock vette , changed thermostat , removed thermostat. and lastly just put on new Edlebrock heads thinking other were
warped / cracked.
The car is runable now but still gets way to hot to fast for the great cooling upgrades.
The only thing that has not been changed yet is water pump because it appears
the be flowing very well, but there is a new Metzier pump on way.

Cracked block common on those?
I'm out of resources here.

He needs to make sure that EVERYTHING is bled from the LT1 system.
My LT1 in my Nissan took 20 minutes to bleed out completely. Also, what transmission is he running behind it?
On the TH350 there can be some problems related to turning the motor at a constant higher RPM than normal.

Mostly though, I would lean towards a lack of cold air getting dirrectly to the radiator. While an LT1 can run without any problems up to about 220° it isn't recommended. Many peoepl see temperatures in their stock LT1's rising consistantly to 210°. Has he tried a 160° thermostat yet?

Well its not lack of cold air, as I said its in a Monte Carlo and they have a nice big grill in front of rad - much more area than a stock 4th gen.
And he is using a black majic fan, one of the best electric fans on the market.
The current thermo stat is a 170, and also I stated we tried no thermo as well..
We did bleed system - maybe not well enough.....
I will tell him to try that a few more times. Thanks for help.

Ohh yeah , he is running a th200r4.
Car idles at 800.

I am sure you checked this but the thermo is for reversed cooling LT1s right? If not there is your dealio maing. When you are bleeding the coolant system be sure and get the front end up in the air, it will help you out.

Thanks for reply, actually car is fixed now...
Turned out to be water pump, even though you could see the flow
in rad it must have not been good enough.
