It's official Big cubed LTX block
#21
The only bad thing is, a lot of guys are going to nut hug this new block kind of hard, but fail to realize the factory block has more potential then 97% of the builds out there can get out of them. When Rick ran 8.0@174 that night at HRP, it wasn't the factory LT1 block that was the issue, Madman also just ran mid 8s in their twin turbo LT1. Dave Diluca went 9.0s with an LT1 block on gas, so did Tanner. Steve Quinn ran 9.7@135 NA with a 370 cube LT1 with Lt1 heads and intake and the list goes on. Going big cubes is great and all, but that eerily (sp) reminds me of the biggest cam makes the most power mentality. I'm happy the block is coming out and realize it does have a great amount of potential but fear most builds are still well within the factory blocks bounds but now since some thing new is out people discredit all what the factory LT1 block has done and pass it off like it was some great limiting factor when it never was.

John + Joel,
I under stand the potential the bigger bores allow for and I am in no way attacking the block as I said their is an incredible amount of potential. Be great to see guys try some converted 18* heads or even some of the 23* gen I stuff on this block. Just pointing out very few of the builds out there are really going to take full advantage of what this block has to offer. I'm happy this block will exist and I look forward to seeing what it does.
Not all, Quinn's 370 was all motor, high 9s all motor have been done on the LT1 block, Ed Writes black Trans Am ran 9.9s with an LT4 top end on a 383? and 4L60E.

There's going to be a bunch more LTx's in the 8's, maybe even some in the 7's.

officially out of the box it should be good for a 3.75 stroke 406 CI with a 4.155 bore, but you can probably get a 4" stoke out of it just like the LT1 block, but it will take some clearancing and get you a 434...
