Tracks that host major NHRA events presumably do. TF, for example, only runs 1,000 foot now.

Im suprised you went that fast with factory heads. Motors only go as fast as the heads allow, and with factory castings-that isn't much. It appears you have a very well built motor if yur running these times with factory heads...port and polish the stockers, and like the others said get a nice stall and you'll cut WELL into the 11's...hell, if you've got forged internals you could spray it too and have one raped ape...

a set of le3's or ai 200 cc's and a 3600 stall and you should go 11.50's.

Very good times for not having heads or a stall.

Good heads like that and a 3600-4000 stall, and he'll be hunting 10's!

Nice running car!

I went 12.20s with stock heads, hot cam,10:1comp,stock converter and trans,4.10 gear with my 383. Then after ditching the 4l60 for a th400 I was able to go 11.76. Put a converter in it you will love it.

Wow - you picked up a ton of ET with the TH400. Exactly what I'm hoping for as well.

With the right heads and a 32 to 3500 stall you'll be very very low 11s or in the 10s solidly.

My previous motor a 383 (which only had 9.8:1 compression) was outfitted with 190 AFR heads (old style) a GM 847 cam w/ 1.6s, full exhaust, 3000 stall and 3.73 gears, ran 11.50 to 11.30s depending on the weather. My new motor is using the same heads (with mild work) with a custom cam and 11:1 compression , all the rest is the same and it is scary by comparisson.

I think youre combo is running very nicely.

Yea it did. The funny thing is its like a 5000 stall that I had laying around and its still in the car. I have to take it out to get it tightened up cause of the nitrous.

Nice times for stock heads. Id say hit it with some spray and leave the heads stock for now... Since your all forged a nice plate kit from n2o outlet would do wonders...

All in the "plan" haha

The motor is "kind of" built for a little spray, compstar internals, JE nitrous pistons/rings. I plan on using a fair amount.

Nice gains with the transmission swap.

Not sure how large of a shot the plate kit will handle I was under the assumption of around 200, but I have not looked in a while since funds ran low. I have looked into them though.

I'm thinking the pickup was from getting rid of the stock converter.

Well, with a converter you'll need stickier tires. Then you'll most likely need suspensio. I'd guess a .5 second ET drop. Then if you get nice heads you could see another nice gain, add more suspension. Then you can spray it for 150 and dip into the 10's, more suspension. I have a 396 with stock ported lt1 heads and it ran 11.4x on motor, 75 shot out of the hole ramped to 150 = 10.4X. Let the addiction start, I just dropped $800 in parts this week alone.

I have a friend who went 12.20s in a stock motored complete bolt on m6 car, sooo I'd say you need to port your heads and do some more stuff. Yes it was an lt car

I get that, professor, but the time slip he has might only show 1,000' times.
