Ummm 30 degrees is a lot, and no IMO a pcmforless tune would not be better.

I would call up Ion at madtuner.com if dyno tuning isn't an option for you...

Air temp and humidity can play a big role in your times. When the 1/4 mile track was still open up here I would run 3-4 tenths slower in the hot summer weather than I would in the early spring and fall with cooler weather. That was with the exact mods/setup on my car.

Honestly, I think you did great for the weather, I was up there too and the weather was killing everone. I was only able to pull off a 13.98@98. I think your car would definately be 13.0s with the right weather.

Rental-wise I think it was a great day. They had the perfect number of cars up there. You check out the pics yet? Are you gonna try to make it up to the one in september? The weather will be alot better

I gained a good bit with my headers, and then gained a good bit after my trifecta tune. I gained .1 and 2mph after 1.6 rockers and a tune, and that was in a lot worse weather, warm and humid, than when I had run my previous best when it was nice and cool and very dry, the previous time at the track. My current best it a 13.61@104.56mph on street tires on a 2.18 60', and when I had done my headers, I gained 4 tenths, so yeah, something is deffinately not right.

Well theres your answer, go back later this year when it cools down and you should see bottom 13s if not 12s . Which I think is awesome for your mods and not having a stall. Nothings wrong with your car man.

Definitely looks right to me. First off, I've never seen any proof that LT's are good for anything more than about 10 hp over shorties on a bolt-on LT1. Add in 10 more for the tune and you gained 20 hp, which should be good for about 2 mph. Add 30 degrees to the temp and you just lost your gains. I've been there before when I had my 1994 A4 TA. I added bolt-on after bolt-on and never went any faster because it was getting hotter and hotter out. As soon as the weather changed I dropped 2 tenths and gained 2 mph instantly.

My 1994 TA had almost the exact same mods as you except for BBK shorties instead of the LT's and no tune and I went 13.33 @ 104 mph in cooler weather on my one and only pass (also at LVD). With some more runs that would have been 13.2 easy. Run your car as it sits in the same air I had and your looking at 13.0-13.1 no problem.

Also, if you want a bit more cheap power for the track get a cutout. My LT1 gained a solid tenth and 1 mph consistently with a small 2.5" cutout and the same cat-back you have. Get a 3" cutout and you'll see it at the track. Add a stall to the equation and you'll be running deep 12's and suprising alot of people who underestimate the LT1

Nice runs out there on Friday, your car looks real good tearing it up down the strip!

Seriously not trying to be a dick, but what in the mod list do you see that makes you think it should trap over 110 mph?

Even still, a 1.9 60' is pretty darn good. With your mods and launch ability you should be in the 12's, especially on sticky tires. Something doesn't seem right, which is typical for an LT1.

1.99ish is about average, but nothing spectacular to make it seem that the car should be in the 12's as it sits in this weather. Once he tosses in a stall and gets better weather then you'll get some great 60's times and hit solid 12's. The car could probably hit a 12 at Atco in cool weather, but it'd take an very cold day at Lebanon and they aren't open in the winter.

I think alot of the people get spoiled by the bolt-on cars that are totally set up, lightened, and post their best times on their best day under the best conditions.

shutzero, those cutouts sound like a great idea. More expensive than the single, and loud as hell, but should gain well.

^Definitely. You'll see an easy tenth and mph improvement with them open vs. closed.

Also, just to give another example of how much weather conditions effect hp, my old 1993 TA, A4 with bolt-ons went 13.1 @ 105 mph at Atco on a cold day and then only 13.6 @ 100 mph at Lebanon on a hot day.

Just to clarify...as I am curious what with my '93 A4 T/A :-p...what do you consider bolt-ons? Do you get into H/C/I? Or just exhaust, CAI, TB, etc.?

The car had shorty headers, no cat, 2.5" cutout, dynomax catback, K&N CAI, airfoil, and electric water pump. Stock stall and stock 3.23 gears. Also the car was on Nittos and put down 284 rwhp with the cutout closed and 289 rwhp with it open. Head and cam swaps are not bolt-ons.
