Sure, but the vats is going to be looking for ur original resistance. so bypassing that it could work. someone could chime in with a definite answer though im sure.

Vats are under the dash. they have their own module. u would have to switch ignition switches.

By the look of your sig, a race between us would be whats sad lol. Yeah now that you say it I do remember there being no button on the a4's. I wounder if it would be fine without it.

Im switching because mine is all messed up from the previous owner. The signal lever mechanism is all busted, the column is loose, and the steering wheel buttons are busted up and the airbag has a hole in it.

Im not sure about that you will need to ask someone else. Im guessing you know that the ignition switch sits on top of the column, not the key switch

I got the column, swithed out the ignition switch, and it still wont start. It will turn on and evrything powers up fine, but when you go to start it, it just clicks and the security light stays on. What am i missing?

your vats. did you take your ignition switch out of your old column and install it in your new column and reconnect the 2 little wires with the orange wrap around it? If not the vats system is reading for the resistance of your original key. there are like 10 different ones if not a few more that gm used. so just pluggin the one on the new column will not work. Just a guess
