Default LT1 Valve Covers!!!

I searched on here forever and havent found anything yet so I guess I will post here and see what happens....

Is there ANYONE who sells nice valve covers that will work on an LT1? I know we have to have that retarded notch on the pass side for the alternator...anyone besides GM and Canton make something for us? I would prefer something that's not "plain jane" if you know what I mean...I like my engine to look good and not be boring.

You should get the alt relocation kit from Speed Inc and then you can run whatever valve covers you want.

I think I'd rather have power steering than some really nice valve covers. Just my opinion though.

Look on eBay for "fatrodder." Polished aluminum, around $100. I've ran them a few times now and they are a nice cover.

I've since upgraded to the Canton's though.

any centerbolt valve covers would bolt to the head they dont have to say for LT1... unless there is clearance issues than you will have a problem... my block came out of a 96 tahoe and it has the vortec heads and same exact valve covers as my friends LT1... they used to have chrome ones at autozone around here

Knowing any center-bolt valve cover will bolt to the heads fine is nothing new. It's the clearance issue with the alternator that is the sole issue here. This is why ss.slp.ls1 mentioned the relocation kit.

They makes a kit to be able to keep the power steering.

I like the Corvette valve covers. I ended up running two driver side ones on mine.

Proform 141-131 or 141-130, black or polished. GM licenced part. Minor grinding needed on back of the alt., takes all of 5-10 minutes.

Two passenger side ones rather, GM still has the passenger side LT4 covers just not the driver any more. So I have two passenger side covers on the car, just used two billet breathers from speedinc. You could use an oil cap just the same. Excuse the mess need to finish the car
