You may have to cut the inner hood brace some to allow the hood to close. I know that has to be done on camaro's

Do the ls1 lid conversion. Imo it makes the engine bay look "newer".

Yeah, the look of the lid is just so much cleaner even. Hell, mine isn't even completed really, but it still looks loads better than having the elbow and cai from before. Maybe tomorrow night I'll try and finish mine up. I'm trying to make it to where I can use the LS1 airbox under a stock LT1 hood. It's going to take a lot of modifying and more cutting. But, it'll work.

You're definitely not going to see any significant gain with either over a regular cai, so if that's the only reason you are doing it, no its not worth it.

Lots of people use the fernco mod. But I hear it cracks lids. You can pay SLP 60 dollars for a smooth bellows to connect with or just a stock ls1 piece is probably best to connect it with. It's corregated and easier on the lid/fit.

What do you mean the LS1 lid pulls it up from in front of the rad? I thought it pulls in air via the air ducts on the hood (WS6 and Firehawk)? Or do you mean the FTRA (Fast Toys Ram Air)? I may have misunderstood.

I'm in the middle of building my own CAI with a scoop to catch air from under the pass. side. My 96' Z28 is stock. Would I be better off just going with the LS1 set up? I agree with the cleaner look. Regardless of induction, I plan to purchase the LT1 SS hood. What could I complete this conversion for?
