Maybe i am not realizing something that others are.

Please inform me of why you have to remove this piece and not just leave it there.
people who remove it mainly do it for more clearance with stepped headers.. Some headers (like LPP's or similar) will not fit/will have trouble fitting with the cooler in the way

o ok. So if i remove the lines that run water through there i dont actually have to remove that piece...right? I have hooker LT's and i dont have any issues with my filter. Only the oil pressure sensor next to the filter.

Then why remove the lines at all?

just to clear up more room. Pretty much everything under the hood is gone now minus the engine. It would just be one less thing to have to worry about going bad or coming loose or whatever.

Just delete it completely. If you remove the lines, the cooler will be no longer functional. Pointless to have it in there. Just remove it. It's too easy to do.

Just removed it tonight like you all said and yes there are 2 studs that need to be changed out with some regular bolts....I think I may have to run a larger filter as far as circumfrance! Looks to be a little larger, correct me if I'm wrong....Yeah I agrre that it is pointless to keep the cooler ecspecially sense I can't hook up the lines! My **** is blocked of on the water pump housing! I'll be plugging my radiator where the 2nd line hooked up...I'm good, i'll swap the 2 bolts out or cut them off with a dremel....Thanks again for everyone's input!

I took mine off because it wouldn't fit with Kooks headers. I noticed improved oil pressure after removing the cooler and changing the filter.

Unless you're running headers that restrict the amount of room you have, you could probably run a longer filter with the cooler removed.
