For those wondering if he broke anything... this wheel stand was nothing new. I don't think the front-end stayed on the ground all weekend at LTXshootout... this was standard operating procedure. As Daren said, most of the fun in the super stock car is on the launch... the rest is just waiting.

I too am curious about the large front tires. What is the reason behind that? Is the wheel just so narrow that they look huge? (I forgot to ask you in person, or look at the sidewall in the pits) Soften the landing?
Simply less rolling resistance (is that a greater gain than less rolling weight?)

Yeah, while walking around the pits, I HAD to snap a pic of the "stocker"

It's actually a cool trick. The extra roll out of the taller tires is worth a little ET. You actually get a little head start over a short tire. A shorter front tire will cut better lights. To reduce rolling resistance I actually run them at 60 PSI (heads-up runs only). Normally I run from 39-42 PSI.

Now you know all my secrets!

Take Care,

Daren

Thanks. I hope to put a new motor in it next week for Rockingham (Top Stock).

If things at work go well I will bring something very cool next year. I had too much fun not to come back. I just hope that it isn't scheduled on one of Veronica's Disney cruises.

Very nice pic. I enjoyed seeing the car at the shootout.
