Another Problem....
Well I am fed up with this car and am almost to the point of selling it off. Finally got the car to run yesterday and it ran great. It was finally running on all 8 cylinders. Anyways let it run and charge everything up. Later that night my bro wanted to see the car running so I went and ran it for 5-10 mins. So I went out this morning to to check the wires to the oil pressure switch. Put everything together and it sounded like the battery was low. Starter was slow and then is would just click. So I took the battery and the alternator off and took them to get checked. Both passed 3 times at different stores. The list of new parts include a new starter, new battery cables(not the kind that you splice and solder). I have checked every single ground in the car. Cleaned each one even tho none of them looked dirty. When the car runs it runs great. Have not drove it due to needing to readjust the rockers. I am afraid to take it out due to last time it just died out from the battery discharging out. Any idea or anyone in the Greenville, SC area willing to come help?

you didnt happen to paint the acc. bracket did you?
Also you should try getting a place to keep it over night so that they can see if it has a bad cell that discharges over night.
The reason i ask both things is that i read 2 threads similar to yours and these ended up being the solution the their problems. one per thread that is.

yup. I would take the battery out, charge it up and check the output. Leave it overnight ( not on the ground, heard it grounds the battery and will pull some of the charge) and then check the output again. See if you might have a bad cell leaking the voltage out over a period of time.

Check for excessive key OFF current drain (a.k.a. - Parisidic Losses); Key OFF, Ammeter between the Pos terminal and the pos battery cable, record current reading (anything over 150 mA is too much), then start removing fuses and relays (one at a time) and cheking for changes to the Ammeter; once you find the fuse which impacts the meter, that is the sub-system that is draining your battery overnight - Happy Hunting!
