Im running Greg Welds front and back. With my old prostars I didnt need any. I want to know how much space is needed. If it doesnt hit its fine or is there a amount of space needed?

My friend did this a few months ago and just yesterday his rear-right caliper exploded. It's literally a twisted, mangled mess and it blew a hole in his Z06 rim.

Thanks Rob.
I dont think Ive taken enough off to make it twist/explode and this car see's very limited street use. When I can afford it Strange drag brakes will be put on. So maybe a month or 2. Im not too worried about it.

I was told to take duct tape and place over the edges of calipers. When the wheel spins freely without touching the duct tape, you should be good. Don't forget to remove the duct tape...

I only had to do the fronts and I used a hand file. Took about an hour to do both sides.

I only had to do my Rears for my Draglites.. I just had the grind off the little fin looking pieces on the Caliper. I used a Dremel and a Burr..it took about 15 min a side.

I have LS1 Brakes on the front and I'm using 1/4" Wheel Spacers with my 15X4's.

Im using these Rims They are different than the prostars or draglites on the inside.
The fins are done its the back side of the caliper, thats needs alittle more work. Just needed to know how much space inbetween the rim and caliper is needed.

i told ya already man just enough to spin the wheels without it rubbing at all, if thats good your good...make sure you tighten the lugs when you spin the wheels to prevent them from wobbling on the axle, duct tape, anti seize or rubbing compound you just need something to leave a mark on the rim but mainly you can hear it grind if its rubbing...

I got the answer already. Thats exactly what im gonna do Rob. Im stuck at work untill 8.
When I left it lastnite it looked like it wasnt touching or just barely touching, but the rim wouldnt spin, so I need to check out the back side of the tire when I get home and see why.

Got one done lastnight and it looks killer!! Just like the rim/tire combo was made to fit the car!!
Lots of grinding but the caliper still looks plenty strong, so Im not to worried about it breaking.
Ill get pics up once they are both on.
