shall i wait and go with the upcoming AI ported TFS 21* LT1 heads instead?

i will go with a 398 since it has more cubes and will do more torque.
If I said "better" I didn't mean it like that. Basically what I mean is the TFS 215cc heads will make more power especially on a stroker than a set of stock ported heads. I just am not confident that you can make your goal of 450 n/a RWHP without an aftermarket casting heads. Yes the bigger head flow can change the powerband. The cam though is more to do with the powerband than the heads. If you're set on AI what I would do is call them and tell them your goals and supporting mods and have them grind a cam for you while they do the heads. If you're not in a hurry I would maybe wait for the 21* heads.

My 385 with AFR 195 LT4 heads put down 432/461. It was a torque monster.

My current 396 with AFR Eliminator 210 LT4 heads put down over 450 RWHP, and we don't even have it tuned properly yet. I have a very good builder, but others can certainly match or even exceed my results.

Again, timeslip is more important to me than the dyno sheet.
What did you do to your intake to use those 210's, what do they flow?

Lloyd Elliot worked his magic on the plenum. The manifold came back 2.2 pounds lighter. I weighed it before and after. Then my builder port matched it to the heads.

The heads he got to flow 312/223 at .600 He was impressed himself as he normally likes Dart and was a little sceptical about AFR.

hold out for the 434 ci dart shp block or 383 it. 396 is only 13 more cubes the $750 eage kit is ok but only rated @ 450hp at the crank 450 x .85 = 385 rwp no power adders.no high RPM but 460 fb of tourqe is nice

i want a stroker kit with good heads from AI since looks like AI and Dart will take some time to offer the AI CNC'd TFS 21* LT1 heads and the Dart SHP LT1 block for sale. i know that this is a spent money but how long until AI and Dart offer their TFS 21* LT1 heads and SHP LT1 block?

Nice, great numbers! Is your builder local to Austin, if so he may be worth looking into for my needs as well? Did that shop just do the intake/head port matching or did they do some flow work on the heads as well? I have read that AI does the LT-1 intake work as well, are they and LE about the same on the intake work, or was it just preference? Sorry for so many questions, but thanks.

Thanks! Yes, builder is in Round Rock (north side of Austin). He did the port matching and the valve job and added a little handwork to the CNC already done by AFR.

Heave heard good things about AI, but have personal experience with LE and LE is great.
