ok.

i found a post that said you could unplug the maf and the PCM will go to a default speed density which allows for any vacuum leaks..in other words...if i unplug the maf and it idles fine, then it means I have a vacuum leak somewhere....if it still idles rough it means its some sort of ignition issue...opti, coil, etc.

sound right?

Basically if it runs worse without the MAF, that means that the MAF was compensating for something. If it runs better, it could mean that you have a faulty MAF. If it runs the same, I'd say the test was inconclusive.
