No, but it won't hurt anything. Keeps crap out of your intake tract.

Looks to me like both of those are going about it completely wrong. The hose you want to put a catch can on is the one that goes into the throttle body. That is the one that sometimes gets oil into the intake.

You also collect oil through those lines in those pics as well. Oil & condensation get in through there as well.

ok. i was just searching through the forums and seen this. Ran the stock motor untouched besides cai and t-stat and headers for the last 1k miles. Never had any problems. Just wondering because there are people complain about oil coating their intakes.

those are generally people with 383s with not so great rings or just more blowby in general. there's a breather you can install in the pass side vc grommet that will help keep the oil out of the TB, while maintaining the closed system. There is no advantage on a stock or midly built N/A car to delete the PCV system. Nitrous and F.I. cars are another story.

^pretty much what he said, don't mess with it unless you have an application that causes high cylinder pressure

if you have aftermarket valve covers that does not have the provisions for the ccv line, do i actually need to drill a hole in the valve cover and add one. This is on a stock bottom end. Top end is built. The car isnt back together yet so im just trying to get everything done all at once instead of having to do this later.

well the seperator isn't going to hurt, but deleting the PCV valve and then running the seperator is what I was refering to.
