LS1 Lid Conversion or Ram Air

LS1 Lid Conversion or Ram Air
No not trying to drum up a comparison between the two, just want to do whichever one can be done cheaper. I can't seem to find any ram air intakes for sale no matter where I look. Does anyone have any links to some for sale? (OEM or aftermarket)
also a second question, what is the actual name of the part that the LS1 lid attaches to. the base of the airbox/radiator cover. just wondering so if/when I look to do the conversion I know what part to ask for.

From what all I've seen, the LS1 lid conversion is going to be cheaper. I was able to do mine for around $140, after buying the lid, a used filter, K&N recharge kit, and an IAT extension. If you need a radiator cover, I've got one for an LS1 lid. But, it needs a filter tray and the clips. Also, if you plan on using the lower air box/radiator cover, you'd better either have a WS6 hood, or be ready to do a lot of cutting, like I had to, to get the lower air box to fit under my stock Z28 hood.

Well, with a WS6 hood, you should be able to make it clean, and not have to do much, if any cutting. Personally, I'd probably rather go with the ram air setup though. That way you're positive that there's not cutting or modifying. It's a direct fit for your hood. Also, while mine doesn't look relatively clean right now, it will soon. I'm going to make a new radiator cover to help hide all the imperfections from the cuts and all. I was just too worn out to completely finish it last week after I got the lower air box to fit in there.

Haha. I get the same way. That's why the lid has been on without the lower air box for about 6 months. The filter was just screwed into the lid. I wanted a better seal between the filter and lid though, so I decided to finally fab up the air box last week. Now, lets see how long it takes me to fab up a radiator cover.
