Default Tuner question

Looking for a tuner for 96 trans am and was curious what people are using. I am staying away from the mail order for now since i am not done modding, so i guess that leaves me with handheld. Are they worth it? All i have found are hypertech and superchip. Are there any other that are better?

they dont go far enough in-depth from what I was told...but I will be using Madtuner. Its mail order and costs 150 for the full performance tune, but after that if you do another mod and need it in your computer he will do it for 50 bucks...and he is good!

The hand held tuners for these cars are crap.. I have used madtuner for all my builds and have had great tunes.. like he said 150 for the first tune and than 50 for any tuning after your car is down about a week..

It will be worth it in the end...It may cost a slight bit more but it is better quality and I think you will like the results! 50 bucks for re-tunes after is not bad either

Here too!! And the re-tunes as mentioned are pretty cheap. Plus you can pick up a second computer fairly cheap or have Ion sell you one. That way you have a spare to send off for the upgrade and have no downtime.

I actually have an LT1 Computer from a 97 SS Camaro I will sell you cheap so your car doesn't have to be down while Ion does the tune for you if your interested!
