Default header ??????

I am selling hooker headers and I was asked the question through a pm.
Will these hooker headers work with my pacesetter y pipe, I then told him NO they wont due to the fact the headers have a bolt flange, BUT if you cut the flange it is a 3" and then you can put a clamp on!

So the question is will the y pipe fit even after he cuts off the flange???
Or will he have to either buy a hooker y pipe Or make his own????

thanks for the info

hope to get answers asap

i think its better to get a new y-pipe. that pacesetter y-pipe maybe too short, too long or may not line up right with hooker headers. it might look ugly if he starts hacking away at th pipes in my opinion.

Probably not. Tell the potential buyer that you won't guarantee a fit.

Cant he just have 3 bolt flanges put on the y-pipe? Seems easy enough

he could have the flanges put on but that will push the y-pipe back maybe 4inches because they are made to slip on.the pacesetter y pipe is also flat at the begining of the driver side section because they have to clear the body of the car. at this point he would have to get the front of the driver side pipe reduced more or hit that section of the car with a hammer to get enough room. or the hooker headers may actually bring the y-pipe lower to the ground and cause other problems with the fitment. the passenger side is fine because of the hump on the floor pan for the cat. they also have a slight curvature at the end of the y-pipe where the intermediate pipe connects. in the end its best to just say that you can't guarantee how it fits.
