Haha i got some jealous LS1 buddies that dont wanna believe that a stock
LT1 with longtubes, ORY with a Borla, 4.10s and a tune will run 13.0's. They cant believe a LT1 will trap 107mph with an a4 with those few of mods. Theres got to be a few guys up here that can back me up on this one. This surely cant be uncommon.

Im still on the stock tranny with the original converter that wont even stall 1400 without breaking the tires loose. It cuts 1.91 60ft about everytime. The car is just short of rolling over 160,000 miles. The thing would prolly be stout with a 3000 stall, but im a lil scared to put a converter in that tired tranny.

Yea they can be slightly spongy in stock form, but when u uncork the exhaust they will either run right with the LS1s or in somecases outrun some of them with the same mods. Ive ran 3 LS1 camaros with the same mods i have that either couldnt pull around me or couldnt get away if the did get ahead any. The stock exhaust just kills the LT1s.

If you put a good tranny cooler on it, you'll be just fine.

I'd also have to back you up on this one. No headers and just 3.73 gears here. A 12bolt, suspension, and ***** to scream it.

Ignorance.

They read some internet forum and see optis are crap and they run 14.8s.

Then they spout it off to their retard buddies that take it as scripture and perpetuate it.

Now compound this over 10 years from it's demise and there you go.

It's the same thing with the TPI guys.

Idiots fail to see that it's still a small block chevy.

I ran 13.1 with LTs and a stall basically and that's at 2000' DA.

To your information, LS1s have more torque than LT1s...they reach their maximum torque later in the curve though. That gives the sensation or the SOTP feeling of LT1 having more torque...so, ignorance can go two ways, my friend.

The LS1 is a superior engine, mechanically and in performance. No other way around it. You think the exhaust is the only thing that "kills" the LT1? You say they are all small block Chevy's...so? The heads, the intake, the weight advantage, etc, etc....that doesnt count in your equation? Before slapping the ignorant CRAP all over the board it would do you better a bit info yourself.

This has been discussed here a million times. The LT1 is a good engine...but its not "as better" than the LS1...please.
