I was thinking leave the frame on the cherry picker and push the entire thing back in?

Just got off the phone with Comp and they are going to replace the rockers and prob upgrade them to the High tech SS rockers at no charge and told me to send in receipts when its all back together and they will see what they can do about the rest.

Also talked to ARP today and they are sending me a free rocker stud since mine got a little damaged. Thanks ARP!!!!

LE is sending me new Valve seals for free. Thanks LLoyd!!!!
Every bit helps and really appreciate anything you guys can do!!! Thanks again!!

I just need about $150 in gaskets and Im good to start putting it back together

Anyone want to swing over and help me yank the motor out? Ive got some friends to help but none are into LT1s or have done a LT swap and the others dont care for cars.

Once you get the engine off the k-member it is very easy to line up and put a few bolts in so it can roll around. You do not need to strip the engine while it's in the bay before pulling. That's the whole point of taking it out of the bottom- To make it as painless as possible w/out having to take **** off the engine before coming out of the car.
The key thing to remember is don't bother taking the struts out from the top. Take them off the A-arms. It's far less of a pain. This way you don't have to worry about trying to align the struts back into the towers and having to force them into place... so on and so forth.
Here's a write up:

I pulled alot of it just to see If I could find anymore missing bearings then just kept going since I didnt have the cherry picker and was working alone. All thats on it now are the heads and timing cover.

And your going to pull it out of the bottom, why?

If it is down that far, you don't even need a Happy Hooker to get it out, just chains and a cherry picker and you are done... Hell, with help just undo the hood struts and hold the hood vertical until it is out...

Im gonna pull it out the top with a cherry picker, bring the motor in the house build the 355 in the Living room. Then gonna put it back in from the bottom fully built. I figure that will be the easiest at this point. I can move the car in and out of the garage and not have to remove the K-member 3 times just once and will be even easier to get out without the motor.

Well, have fun, and don't work too hard. Once you get parts we'll get together and get that thing back on the road!

1 Valve. The broken rocker messesd up the tip of it. Just pulled the head and no other probs with PVC what so ever. If Lloyd has one ill get it from him. Jegs and summit are out. It would prob be fine but I want it perfect.

Damn, just saw this now. I haven't heard of many Pro Mag failures, but it's bound to skip past quality control every now and then considering the volume they produce. Glad to hear they are helping you out, along with ARP and Lloyd.
Good luck with the tear down and reinstall!

My brother just ordered a set of the high tech stainless 1.7's for the 96, is that what you got. Comp only shows 1.7's listed, just curious?

The 1.7's should bump the lift up to .570 -.580 ( was .540-.550 w/ 1.6's), I think the 135# springs should still be good for it. We just want to get the promags off the car after seein what happened with your motor! Plus another guy on here twofast4luv has had issues with them as well. The 1.6's are all you need with that cam, that 355 should scoot!

I have found 2 local guys that also broke pro mags! Actually they both broke 2 of them each, not in the same spot as mine but those are high HP race motors. The guys at Comp were telling me the Pro mags are more of a street/ bracket rocker not a full race application. I said you sure as hell dont advertise them like that.
