used 'em on my 90 with the GM 847.....They were actually quiet for roller rockers. I'd buy em again, they're relatively in expensive as well.

There was a thread recently titled something like "Proform vs. Comp" and the poster was torn between using Proform or Comp rockers. The general consensus is to go with the tried and true Comp rockers.

I recommend Comp 1305-16 1.6 NSA 7/16" full roller rockers. They will require ARP 7/16" rocker arm studs and guideplates (I use TrickFlow guideplates).

Made in China makes them cheap and inexpensive.

I remember reading about one guy who had a set and his exact words were:

"I wouldn't put them in my lawnmower"

But then again, some people have tried them and said they are great. You can get Scorpion Roller Rockers on Ebay for around $230 shipped - Made in the USA.

I used ProForm on my ZZ4 cam only setup, worked just fine, still in good condition.

I would NOT use them on the current heads and cam setup though.

LE suggested them to me to use with his 218/224 cam, thats why I asked about them on here. Maybe they work will a small cam like that, but he grinds a hell of lift on it for a cam of its duration.

I am going for Pro Magnums full rollers, and paying the difference on the proven product. But trust me, Made in China does not mean crap quality anymore. It can be made with the same alloy as Crane uses in their Gold rockers, but be cheaper because of China having cheaper labour. It works in your favor as a customer.

Good luck.

The problem is, with all the known bad quality things coming out of China, you just don't know. Unless I have some specifics, I'm not taking chances.

I've only got like 300 miles on mine, but that said they are quiet. So far I am very pleased with them. If I had lumps of cash laying around, I would have went with something a little more high end.

I really, REALLY doubt that. Summit doesn't even carry Scorpion Roller Rockers.

One thing I like about the Proforms is the side stops on the roller tips to help keep the rocker arm on the valve tip.

Thats something that the Pro Magnums don't have, and neither do the Ultra Pro Magnums have them. Thats making me consider getting the GM 1.6s that come with the LT4 kit.

Umm...probably because they are SA rockers? I haven't checked the UPMs, but the Pro Mags can be had in SA (with the "side stops") or NSA (without). NSAs are the better choice for frequent high RPM use.
I've read too many threads about the Proforms destructing and filling the engine with metal to be confident they are safe to use. Then again, some people like them.

I know its because they are self aligning. But I even checked the Comp Cams site, and they don't advertise the Pro Mags or Ultras with side stops, even though they are self aligning. Or maybe its just the picture.

I would prefer having the side stops, just for the peace of mind.

You should probably do a little more research. If their SA, they have to have the tabs to keep them on the valves. How else would they stay on?

I said they don't advertise them having them, as there are no pictures showing they do have them. All SA rockers are advertised with the model having the stops.

Of course they must have them to stay on the valve. I did not say they don't, did I?

They use different part numbers for them there though - that's pretty stupid.

I wonder what these little babies are (check in the circle at the bottom of the page)? Isn't a catalog kinda like advertising?
