Between a few cheap clutchs, opinions?
I need a clutch yesterday in my Camaro, and I'd like to stay on a on reasonable budget, but maybe do a little better than stock. What do you guys know about this clutch?
Zoom 30010 - at Summit
This clutch?
MU70043 - at Summit
Or this clutch?
RAM-88516
To me, it looks like the 30010 is the best bang for the buck, but is it really much better than the cheaper Zoom? The RAM looks similar to the Zoom stock replacement. Be interested to get your thoughts...
As far as the car goes, just a CAI and Magnaflow muffler, it might have 4.10's and headers in its future at some point, or a CC503 if I get real ambitious, but it'll likely stay just how it is. It will likely get to the strip once a year.

The 30010 clutch IS the best clutch of the bunch, as it is a dual kevlar clutch. That being said it chatters during break-in, but once broken in it is not bad at all.
It handles over 500hp. As far as I am concerned the only real options for clutches are:
Cheap < 550hp - Zoom Dual-Kevlar
Expensive > 550hp - McLeod Street Twin
And, wouldn't you know it, I have a Zoom 30010 in my '95 Camaro convertible making around 540hp, and the McLeod Street Twin in my '95 T/A making >900hp... So, I am speaking from the aspect of actually owning them.

Maybe I didn't read closely enough, I didn't realize the 30010 had a 550hp rating - pretty stout for a $329 clutch. Chatter doesn't bother me much, not a concern. If its really quick and bitie it'll probably give my wife fits after using the beat stocker thats in their now, but again, not a big deal, I like 'em like that.
I just looked up the 30000 series clutchs on Zoom's site, they are organic, not kevlar, and the description on Summits page says its organic as well, just the little blurb on the bottom indicates its kevlar. I think its an organic clutch.
Here is the dual kevlar for anothe hundred bucks, $418 - looks like summits site has a typo or two with regards to the 30000...

I have the "HP" one you listed last. having run stock, SPEC2+ and compared it side by side with the RAM...the ZOOM got my nod. I felt is was better made.
Some chatter in break-in but smooth as silk after. I have run it at the track for 2 years now in a 4400 lb car.
The MU series is stock replacement and IIRC ZOOM does not offer it for the LT1 anymore. You want the Kevlar/Kevlar disc one.
few pics to compare ZOOM & RAM. the disc solid plate, bigger springs and rivets on the ZOOM in my opinion make for a better disc than the RAM
