Rick's car later went 9.88 on the LT1 heads and intake.
These days with the AI built Trickflow topped 383 Rick's car is mid 9s. Been discussed and the cam is no bigger than other guys around here drive on the street, it certainly could fit some people's definition of sttreetable. Heck it even has an overdrive tranny in it yet so the argument could be made it would be nicer to drive than a TH400 car.

I have heard complaints that it can't be true but answer this if it were "cheating" HOW are they doing it?

Car is a bracket car running multiple classes, nitrous is too inconsistent for bracket at that level and as many passes as he makes he would go through a LOT and get caught changing bottles midday, so it couldn't be that.

Turbo and blower you can't hide.

So really there is no way for them to cheat.

So next time someone says it is not honest ask HOW they think it is being done.

Why not? The LTX is a great platform.

We have documented this car to death. It is okay if people don't believe it. Ask them what they think of this one: https://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-m...30-mph-na.html

The lists online are rarely correct. This info has been outdated for years now. Rick went 9.88 with our CNC'd 200cc GM LT head quite a long time ago after he went 9.97 with our 190cc CNC'd GM LT head.

most of the ltx crowd doesnt have the money and time to put a setup together like ricks car. like its been said so many times, for even an above average guy, his kind of build is not realistic. not many people willing to spend 40k on an ltx platform, when they can have 550 rwhp out of a 10k dollar 408. its not whether or not the ltx platform can do it, its whether or not people want to try and build on the ltx platform.

Joe Overton went 9.40's? All motor. RACECAR THOUGH. I am gonna keep tweaking mine to see how close I can get. Got some changes in order. I gots a screetcar.

Abares car? Fast, but a racecar, as was Ed Wrights. Street driveable yes, hop on the interstate for an hour? No.

And WHY are people so down on the LTX platform? Can you go fast with a Gen1? HELL YEH! So a gen2 is a reverse cooled gen1, makes it even better for the streetcar crowd. More compression on pumpgas. All the same tricks apply.

Wouldn't Abare's car be better on the interstate than your car? Same size cam, same transmission, less compression, smaller heads, smaller intake manifold, and you're running a half filled block, ect

Those are all bad *** motor cars, that took 2 seconds to find and Im sure there are tons of guys that dont ever get online that are faster. LTX cars are no joke. The LS crowd just stoled the show.

Quoted from Phil at Ai from another thread..............

David, as I have said before, and I will say again - I personally view Rick's car as a race car.

You guys suck up ALL you read. Just because it has a od trans and runs on pumpgas doesnt mean it can REALLY street drive.

My car is SETUP to streetcruise, and dragrace on occasion. Again, like I have said before. Take Abares car straight off the track in 100* heat and follow me down the interstate at 75 mph with his 5500 rpm non lockup converter, stock radiator, thin fluids wherever he can put them, uncapped ex, slicks and wheelie bars. WIth his TRACK tune, believe it or not a street tune and track tune ARE different, even on pumpgas. PROVE its a streetcar instead of all this BS. Shut me up. Until then its a racecar.

3 weeks ago I DROVE 60 miles to the track, made 4 passes, popped out the ttops rode the beach 40 miles, then drove 60 miles home, all on pumpgas, exactly like it is ALWAYS driven and raced. Its called a mid 10 second all motor streetcar.

I really doubt that Rick knows who you are. He has been racing his car for a lot of years and never drives it on the street. Why would you ever want to compare your car to his?
