so your saying you can't hook up the obd2 cable to the scanner it has to b a modded obd1 cable?

For a '95 car with a OBD1 PCM and a OBD2 port, yes.

Ahh..it helps when he told us what Cable he was using.. I'm trying to break down all the wiring and ****..lol

With the 1995's you have to use a OBDI Cable with a OBDII Connector on it..like a few of us have mentioned.

The only way to use a OBDII Cable is if you have a OBDII Engine.

So the GM techs at the dealership had to make a jumper set up to read the '95 cars?
What did they do?

I think there is some issues with the ALDL wiring, i would guess that some other stuff is hanging on that wiring creating the issue. All that needs to be removed and then proceed.

Most places that make the Scanners made the special Cables when the 1995 Models came out. They still have them available or could make them considering the amount of 1995 cars out there.

1995 Cars are wierd, I haven't seen 2 that were wired the same..lol

are you sure about that? I have the aforementioned 95 OBD1 computer with OBD2 port and i seem to remember someone scanning my codes using a scanner with a plug in port. I think he said it needed to be an OBD1 scanner with an OBD2 adaptor or something like that. but i know i've seen it done on my car before.
