This next year lets do most of the drinking a little earlier. I don't like drinking myself stupid the night before driving home.

I know Cordova is somewhere in the range of $2-2200 for four hours of racing, not sure if we would need longer than that? Just figured i'd throw that in there to see where it ranks with other track's rental prices.

Im cool with whenever/where ever it is. I just dont see anyone from the east coast going further west or south. If its much farther I dont see all the Chitown boys making it either.

Guys it was so so nice to have an RV with a driver on the way home. I hope I can work that one out again next year!!

four hours is not long enough. Need 8 hours. Does that price include ambulance, insurance, track prep, track crew salaries, .......etc?

Well the time management on the track was pretty **** poor. Most of that extra time in between the rounds could have been eliminated with a little more help from the track crew. I am a project manager and I think this all can be done in a 4-6 hour time period. 8 hours of track time for those possible crashes and spills.

Very true but you also have to factor in about an hour or more to tech in cars and that is on the clock.

For serious heads-up racing you really need more time betwean rounds not less. I really appreciated the down time.

With the amount of classes there were, you have about 30-45 minutes before a car would have to run again. I don't know many races that happen where you have upwards of an hour before you have to be ready to go.

Which was fine with me.

Then you have never heard of the NHRA or IHRA?

If this is going to be a serious race you need to allow racers time to prepare. It's bad enough qualifying and racing on the same day. If you miss your set-up you are done. That's why we were taking weather station readings Friday night at the hotel to get our tune close for the next day. It took us weeks before that to get the 29.5" M/T radials to work. If it's just going to be a test-n-tune why bother?

For street cars I guess it is ok to run every 15 minutes but for high horsepower cars you need time to cool down, read datalogs, read plugs, make changes........etc etc. I like having time in between rounds.

I also liked the time in between rounds and even felt rushed at times. I would hope for the same amount of time next year if not more.

Our Club (MFBA) rents out Cordova twice a year for track days and it was much cheaper than that for a full day . We have it rented all day on Halloween this fall.

How many races have you been involved in that give you that much time? Especially, races that have as many brackets as the LTxshootout did.

45 minutes is too short? 45 minutes is a lifetime. We're not talking about hot lapping cars.
