Default Tony - 2010 LTX Shootout?

Tony,

Just curious if I can start working on a new N/A motor for next year?

Right now, I am planning on stock stroke and factory LT4 head castings. Anyone else building anything?

Take Care,

Daren

I am curious also as I may need to put the hands to the wrench a little quicker than I wanted to. I want to bring my car out for the next go round.

Missed the first one from lack of cash, and on the second one my car was down...so I'm also hoping to have something ready for the 2010 shootout!

Kyle and I have been talking about it. It more than likely will NOT be at KCIR again. The low turnout this year kinda turned our interest to having it somewhere else. Not to mention the lack of marketing from the track.

One thing I am dissapointed in is we did not see one car from the West coast in 2008 or in 2009. Odds are it will move a little more East or maybe South.

I am friends with someone who works there. If they are serious about moving the LTX shootout further East I can get some info on pricing.

I live the new track in Crandall. It's in TX so I'm biased. LOL

Not to mention how many crazy fast LT1s are here.

Dallas Raceway is on the list to check out. I raced there a couple of weeks ago and met the owner. Nice new facility! Also might look at Memphis. All depends on the rental price.

+1 for Memphis.

Im gonna get my car dialed in the rest of this year and then its gonna sit until the shoot out. Ive missed both of them so far due to issues with the car. Not missing another one!

Also wanted to mention, its not about the payouts for me, a trophy would be good enough. Hanging out and making some passes with the other LT1 guys is what Im there for. If payouts have to go down to get to a better track or even up the entry, Ill be there regardless. Even though I missed both years I still registered both times to help support the event and just in case I would make it.

what about Red river raceway close to shreveport, LA, they had a pinks all out there with an awsome turnout (maybe just because it was pinks though). Nice track to.

I will try to make it, but Dallas & LA is out of the question for me and prob alot of the chicago guys(wich made a good showing in KC). Still Think Chicago area would be the most central with some great tracks and tons of LT1s. Theres at least 5 Tracks within a few hours of here. US 66, Greatlakes dragway, Byron, Cordova, US41. etc.

If you want more West Coast LTs to show up why would you move it further east? I was on the fence about going last year but money became an issue, moving it further away I am sure money will be a concern again this year.

+1 for 66. Great track, lots of room, and all the amenities are near by. plus I'm 45 min away. Only downside would be weather, summer one day and winter the next, nothing in between......

Im not sure what kind of tracks you guys are looking at but tri-state dragway in cincinnati is owned by my family and the price to rent it out would be pretty reasonable. Jegs comes and puts on a race every now and then and a few other companys like Nitro Plate have came to put on races as well. Its a mom and pop track.

I prefer the shootout to be closer to Illinois..Like Achotrod there's plenty of tracks near here and could improve the amount of cars that could show up!

More East or South and there definatley wont be any West coast guys there. But there really is no medium for location, everybody wants the race to be held in their front lawn.

Good Luck.

If your wanting to move more to the east then you should definatly check out Virginia Motorsports Park or Maryland International Raceway. VERY nice tracks!

I want to make the next LTX shoot out.
