Removing oil pan
I know the engine needs to be jacked up, but where do I jack it up from? I do not have a cherry picker or know anyone who has one. Is there any alternative way?

Haven't got an STB I'm afraid. I did try the wood under the crank hub trick, it works yes with the right size of wood, but I am just looking for safer alternatives.
I tried it with the balancer on because I have not had time to remove it. I will have a go at it after tomorrow because I am working tomorrow night (earning extra $$ to buy a SS3600 )
I want to remove it just to replace my oil pump and put in a new seal. I am also getting a new sending unit to make sure I am getting a correct reading.

Well, at idle the gauge was reading 40psi (cold) and when warm, 20psi hot idle. Under driving, it was at 40psi but let go of the throttle and it drops to 20psi but no less.
Now, its either of these 4.
1. The sender was bad.
2. The oil pump might be giving up or the pick up pan is really dirty.
3. The oil the garage put in for me when I gave it in for an oil change when I got the car a month shy of a year ago (I never let anyone work on my car but I could not even spare time for a simple job) so I don't know what oil was poured into my engine.
4 & worst case scenario: some bearings are really wearing out.
So, I thought since I am removing the pan to replace the sump seal, I will put in a high pressure pump to keep the engine well lubricated.
