Talking Changed my first OPTI!

OK, I know this isn't that big of a deal but I just had to let everyone know that I finished swapping out my WP and OPTI today and believe it or not the car actually runs the way its supposed too! Thanks for everyone's help and advice answering my questions. Feels so good when you do something yourself!

Knock on wood...still only driven the car ~10 miles since I finished it up so there is still a chance it could go horribly wrong...but no SES/misses/coolant leaks yet.

Extra insurance. A detached rotor might rear its ugly head, it might not, only time will tell. For now enjoy the car running the way is should.

Hope it lasts as long as my other OPTI. I am pretty sure it was the one that originally came on the car...104k on it and had the WP not puked on it I think it might still be working. I did replace it with a delphi unit and not one of the parts store specials though. When I did the WP I installed a 160 thermo as well and went with the GMPP WP that "supposedly" flows more gpm than the OEM one. I dunno, car runs significantly cooler now.

No. When I had the tune done it was still for the 180(stock?) but I had bryan lower the fan temps to match the 180. So the fans kick on sooner but not as soon as they could...cruising home today though (55mph) car barely hit like 170ish. I was impressed normally on that drive it would be closer to 190.

Our cars don't come with a 180 t-stat. But its nice to have the car tuned for it so your fans will come on. Mine is and my temp never exceeds 175... most of the time its sitting right at ~170

Im not going to get it retuned just for the fans anytime soon. Like I said my fans on temp was already lowered to I think 195 anyway (don't remember high speed temp). I realize I am leaving some cooling potential on the table but at least my car shouldn't see 200 very often (if ever).
