Cam the LT1 or Clunker the LT1.... Need advice
The opti is shitting out in my 94 z28 and i am considering getting out of the LT1 world.
My car qualifies for the clunker program... I have been considering trading in the LT1 for a new car. My car is prob worth 2500, but uncle sam would but it for 4500. Id prob buy a new worry free eco car for the remainder college career. It would be nice getting 35 mpg, having cold ac, and not smelling like exhaust all of the time. It would be a very conservative route for my personality.
or
Change out the opti, throw a cam in, and terrorize mustangs LT1 style for the rest of my college career .
What would you do?

I could never do that eco ****. Maintain your lt as best as you can then mod up. it should never be smelling like exhaust inside the car. its all up to you in the end though.
How ever speed isn't everything, it is most of it though, but seriously there are more comfortable cars than these too. If you think you'll regret being slow, then keep the lt and be patient.

How much money do you have for a new car?
If you want something more practical, I guess thats the way to go... I personally have a DD and my Trans Am... but if you do sell it I will hold no guarantee that you won't miss it

go send your beloved cars that have given you that rush and enjoyment that nothing else has to the chopping block and have them die a dishonorable slow corrosive death, I hope your driver's door somehow pinches your finger for considering that. I could never turn my car in.

If it was me, I'd sell it.. I would never turn my car in.
Obama is a RETARD (and yes you can quote me on this) for providing this program hoping to help American companies when 8 of the top 10 of the companies are not US companies... Kudos to NOT helping the American economy

just sell the car and use that money. The joy and excitement that someone else will get from your car would be worth it, and the car will get to live on. I think it is f-ing stupid to kill the vehicles turned in, it pisses me off.

Just sell the damn thing and don't get into more debt on a lame *** new econobox. The cash for clunkers thing is really wasteful IMO. I'm sure somebody will snap up your Camaro for cheap and put a big nasty motor in there.
If you really want something more comfortable and practical, just spend 5-6k on a used Honda or something GM with the 3800 V6 if you want a bigger car. You can find clean, reliable cars with about 75k miles on them for that price. Look for cars that old people tend to drive, cheaper insurance and its easier to find one with low miles that's been taken care of.

I'd give my car away to someone before I traded it to uncle sam's chopin block for $4500! seriously. besides I can get(or could get before I cammed it) 32mpg highway going 80+ why the hell would I want to trade it for a slow ugly POS that gets 35mpg going 60 or less? at the very least you should aim your car at the white house and put a brick on the gas pedal
(of course I'm not serious big brother)
