Default Oil dipstick hitting the crank?

I just finished installing longtube headers on my 1995 LT1. I slid the dipstick tube back in all the way and bolted it up, when i started the car there was a loud ticking sound. I then unbolted the dipstick tube and slid it up and out a few inches started the car and the ticking is gone. Any suggestions on what needs to be done so the tube can be in its proper place and bolted up?

Bend the tube that goes into the pan away from the crank. Having a bench vice for a more accurate bend is a good thing. It's that easy.
