I did the swap on my 96 Camaro, best thing I ever did to it. Spent about $3500, but it was all built to last. Except the clutch, I made that good pretty fast. Soon I'll be swapping it all over to my T/A. I swear, finding manual LT1 F-bodies in LA is near impossible.

I wanted an m6 car, but living in NYC, where there is a traffic light or a stop sign every 100 yards, it's not much fun.

Thats understandable, plus it just adds excess wear and tear to the car, having to take off all the time with a stick.

that only matters if you run at the track. id like to see you do anything like that on the street.

whatever you decide to do youll do. like i said i love my T56 and i wouldnt trade it for an auto anyday. even in heavy traffic with my spec stage 3. its just so much fun to run through the gears anywhere, anytime.

I shift my TH350 manually all the time. Makes me feel like I'm driving a race-car with the ratchet shifter.

So i plan on swapping to a six speed in the next week and am going from a stalled m4. Is it really that bad having FI on a 6speed? I figure i drive daily with occasional track time and would think the 6speed will be more durable plus alot more fun than the auto. Just gotta get a good clutch and beefed up rear right?
Ive driven 6speed f bodies before and absolutely loved rowing through the gears, and would be so nice to be able to do it in my chevelle.I would think with getting the launch down at the track , i should be running pretty close to current times with the auto.

I am not worried about driving in town, my old 509rwhp C5 drove just fine around town and in traffic. It looks like Ill be pulling this trans/converter combo out and selling it, guess it's time to start looking for T56 parts.
