Default o2 senser change mishap

Ok I got the old ones out no problem and I got the new one put in on the passanger side no problem. However I can not for the life of me get the drivers side to start to tread in with the new 02 or the old one. Is there any tricks or tips to doing this? Leave it to me to mess up something so easy to do.

Did the old one come out hard..are you cross-threading it?

Old one was a little hard to break lose but after it gave I unscrewed it the rest of the way by hand. And I've never put a wrench on the new one because I haven't been able to get the threads started. Looks like I'm going to have to limp it to a shop Tuesday. Thanks

Just make sure you aren't cross threading it in..

almost sounds like its cross threaded as stated or you might have the wrong O2 sensor?

take a look at the treads in the bung and on the sensor could be jacked up. It could have gotten run over by a forklift in the warehouse you never know

I got it in finially (4 hours all together) I had to take a flat file to the threads on the new o2 senser and tapper them a little. But it worked. And as far as getting the wrong 02 senser I didn't know that was possible I thought all the gm ones had the same threads some just had differnt plugs on the wires. I might be wrong but that is what I thought. Thanks for all the help guys.
