fans wont come on
i just put on a new msd opti, plugs, wires, waterpump and LTs. i started it up today (FINALLY) and the damn thing overheats idoling. upon further investigation i came to realize that the fans are not turning on. ????? they came on just fine prior to this project. thanks
not trying to make fun of you but did you make sure that you reconnected all the connectors. I believe there are one or 2 below the upper hose on the radiator, one on the water pump, and one in each cylinder head. some common things can be overlooked. and also some times you cant hear the fans on while the car is running. just a couple suggestions

How can you hear your fans kick on when they are not turning on? If they were working fine before then just double check your connections as said before. Almost sounds like you still got air in the system as these motors are a bitch to burp all the air out. U can always turn your a/c on and see if the fans come on then, they're supposed to come on with the a/c. Double check fuses and relays?

Okay gotcha, was worded funny. LOL. Anyway, did u try swapping relays around? I doubt that's it. How bout the sensor on the W/P, it's the one that sends the info to the comp to turn fans on/off. Make sure the pins are not bent and not getting good contact. The one of the side of the head is for the gauge. Using a test light, unplug the fans and check for power at the connector, make sure you turn on A/C to make sure power is supposed to be applied to the fans.

do you mean a manual switch? i broke down and got the one from slp because i couldnt figure out why my car was overheating. still dont know after 1 1/2 years. the only reason i could come up with is that the head gasket was blown between the cylinders and causing an uneven heat exchange but still not sure
i went "searching" and it seems like this is a pretty common problem without a definite answer... im gunna try a new cts and if that doesn't work, manual fan switch it is
