Default clearances... what should it be for my build ?

ok what should my main and rod clearances be using plastigage .... building a 355 eagle crank and rods speed pro forged pistons... i looked for post and have a manual but waht some of your guys input

It all matters what you're usage is going to be and what the motor is being designed to do. For instance I have .0028 on my mains and .0030 on my rods, but thats a high rpm race motor with 50 weight oil and a stout oiling system. I'd rather not give you any numbers your best bet is to talk to your machine shop and they should be able to help you. Also I would ditch the plastigauge and get some dial bore indicators and calipers. Plastigauge is for building "its close enough" motors lol.
