Default MY Fuel Guage is stuck on Full?...

So as the title states, the fuel guage in my 95 TA is stuck on full! Im thinking that i might need to look into the fuel pump assembly, but im not sure if it could be something else? any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated and i will be checking in as much as possible!
Thanks Again

Happen to me once after installing and trimming my light-weight carpet. Drove the car around for about 2 days thinking I still had a full tank, only to have the car stumbling at a red light....I was freaking out because I though it was the opti, but I relized I had cut the purple wire on the driver side floor board. Soldered the wire back together and it fixed the guage.

fuel sender unit broken or unhooked could do it too, like guy above me said when he cut the wire. happened to me when i paid some idiots to put a fuel pump in where i bought it (big mistake, tried to charge me 750 dollars for it when i told them to just find out what was wrong - ended up paying 300 heh) and it was stuck all the way past full.

Like other gauges such as oil gauge, when they are disconnected they stay all the way up. I think it lost the power supply somewhere

same here.....The purple wire going to the potentiometer in the tank broke on my car and the guage shot up to past full. Check that wire I'm willing to bet thats it.
