Default Is 15w40 oil too thick for my 100k LT1 vette

My 94 Vette almost has 100k and it started leaking oil after the last oil change when i put in full synthetic Mobil 1 5w-30...Now I want to get rid of the leaks for the most part so I want to run a thicker oil..I was thinking..15w40 conventional..I live in Arizona..It doesn't get cold here..and it's a third car anyways...What do you think????

what 15w40.

Dont forget, weights are all you should look at, different oils have different potential uses and therefore are formulated differently.

You are going to fix an oil leak by running heavier/thicker oil? Did I read that right?

Just fix the leak and continue to use the recommended 5w30
