Default cc306 or keep my cc503

Ok guys i have a 40 over motor speed pro pistons and ported stockers all boltons ewp. My question is Im trying to decide if I should keep my cc503 or jump up to a cc306? I spray the car with a 150 shot and this setup pulls real hard but have been wondering if it will make more power with the 306. Also kinda worried about twisting the extra rpms the 306 would require. I know I could go custom but I can pick one of these 306s up for cheap! Also with the 306 should go nsa rockers or could I keep my sa rockers?

Are your rods and rod bolts built up to handle the extra spinning?

The CC306 loves the bottle, so you'd pick up good gains there. But NA, unless your willing to spin the extra rpm I doubt you'll gain much. The NSA will be more stable at high rpm's, you can pick up a set of CC promags and guide plates as be fine. Just my .02

Im also looking to do the cc306 but mine wold be a
DD, i was wondering what your intake, TB setup would be to run the 306? Some people say you don't need to port the intake then others do, my thinking was, im buying new heads, so i will go and get the intake ported and a new TB(58mm) what do you think? im getting the heads to avoid to problems with getting them redone.

What heads are you buying? And intake porting at LE is like $200 and maybe a bit more at AI... Definitely worth it to kick it a nickel!

if your gonna do a cam swap, go custom. if you wanna save cash don't do swap at all, imo.

cam + tune + gaskets + fluids just for the kind of difference you can make up with a $3 nitrous jet

I have a freshly built forged 355 with the cc306 and I love it. I plan on spraying mine with a 150 shot as well. It sounds and performs amazing except for the oil pressure issue I'm having. I can tell that it's going to be abeast of a motor all though I nly have about 150 miles on it. I recommend the cam to other's but that's just me. I've been fan of this cam for years though, finally I got one. I do recommend the comp promags NSA with guide plates, that's what I'm running with my port and polished stock heads and every supporting mod that you can do to the car.

Yeah you have a good point there! I have thought about buying some more jets and pill it up some. I have also thought about doing 1.7 rocker arms on the cc503 think that would pick it up any or stick with the 1.6s?

There are better heads out there than the patriots. Le1s flow about the same as them btw! If you want a good off the shelf head spend a few more bucks and get the new trickflows.

Trickflows # TFS-30400008-CNC. Also keep an eye in the forsale section for a used set of ported heads! Llyod had a set of new LE1s in there the other day.

The right way to do this would be to start your own thread. That way this one could stay on track and you would probably get more answers with yours.
