Default BMR, UMI, or SPOHN k-member??

I am swapping a LT1 into my 96 camaro, and figured I might aswell save some room and weight by using a tubular k-member.

UMI has the cheapest one I can find, now I just wonder if it is worth it? Or if I should just pay a little more for a BMR or SPOHN version??

I tried contacting a sponsor but havent heard back yet. I will most likely call BUYNSPEED (I think) sometime today.

Thanks for any feedback guys,
ZACH

Your best bet is to post this in the Suspension forum.

I only buy UMI products and have heard great things about their K-Member so that's what I would personally buy.

I had all UMI on my old car and was very satisfied with their quality and price.

The new car, however, is all BMR. Just got my BMR K member attached to the motor and that thing sure is pretty. Great quality also. I know BMR usually runs a HUGE sale sometime in the spring, that's when I bought the K member, got it for 360 shipped. Just FYI.

I have all 3 parts on my car, as far as K member, not as of yet. All 3 companies make good parts, get the one that works with your setup. BMR sells a specific "Turbo" K member that will give you that clearence needed IF you ever go FI.

You cant go wrong either way.

I might have been confused (I usually am) but I thought the turbo k member was for use with a motor plate, I looked because I would like to turbo the camaro down the line, but I wasn't trying to do all that as of right now. when I go turbo I might just get a moly k member But again, I could be wrong about the motor plate part.

You know what, that could be my mistake. I thought they made it w/ motor mounts bout modified for more clearance.

I'll be doing some more research now.

Thumbs up Umi

I had full UMI suspension on my 87 Grand National. On my current 96 T/A I have almost every available UMI componet on the car now (with exception of the K-member which will be ordered this coming spring) Great Parts, Great Pricing and Great Customer Service. You wont be dissapointed with UMI.

BlackScreaminMachine I think they make both, someone gave me a number for the turbo style with mounts, and its not the one I have seen online (turbo style for motor plate), so thats all I can figure. lol

I actually ordered my UMI from byunspeed yesterday. I hope to see it next week but if not I can wait till the week after.

Thanks for all the help fellas.

BMR for turbo cars.

meaning they make one designed for extra clearance to use with turbo cars.

UMI dude. For sure. The one I had fit great and looked even better. Plus if you wait until November you'll see UMI has like a 20% off deal. I got mine for $387 shipped from Byunspeed back in November. Just be patient and wait until then and get a UMI.

I wonder how many people that have posted actually own a ___brand____ k-member...

and those that do, I wonder how many people have any experience at all with any other k-member besides the one they are running.

either way, what are you intentions with the car? I'm not a brand specific person myself, I just look around at what company has the best item to offer for whatever I'm looking to buy. In this case, I run a Spohn K-member

Quick Reply: BMR, UMI, or SPOHN k-member??
