Default LT1 Head Help Pics inside

ok i picked up these heads today the guy i got them from did not know a thing about them. he said they had been ported tho.so i took them home and cleaned them up. so i need your help figuring out what i have. they look like they have been ported(intake, exhaust, chamber,). they are all smooth. it looks like aftermarket valves(PEP PRO), springs(appear to be dual springs), guides(manley 42355), the rockers look stock but im not sure they have no markings, and rocker studs im not sure. there was some writhing on the head that appeared to say milled 0.60 or 0.060 im not sure, or shim .060 or 0.60 im not sure it was really hard to make out. we PT tested them for cracks and found none we just found some pits. what im worried about in the valves hitting the tops of the pistons... and just yalls opinion on if i should go with these... let me kno what yall think.

wow holy pics batman,lol...Well I would say first junk those rockers and get some roller rockers and 7/16" rocker studs if they arent already. Also the heads are probably milled
.060" so you will need to mill ur intake as well or you will have problems with idle quality and oil leaking into the intake and heads. You have manley guidelpaltes which are good enough for you build and the springs do look like a beehive from the pics. The port work also looks very good from the pics. Do you know what they flow or if they have ever been milled??

Why would it have guideplates with stock, self-aligning rockers? Kooky.

well it's definately ported on the intake side, aftermarket valves, guideplates, 3/8 studs, and some kinda .525"+ (i'd imagine) lift springs with an inner dampner

Quite a professional shop to have such resources at hand to check parts for you.

Since you already have some guide plates, get some NSA roller rockers.

And about the valves hitting the heads, you will never find out unless you put them on with some clay dough and find out.
