Cool True Duals

What's up guys..

Well I'm finally putting True Duals on the Car.

I'm selling my Tunnel Brace mounted Torque Arm and I just bought this one from UMI Performance..

I figure that will help out well with the under-car clearance, and also with handling. I'm setting the Car up for cornering more than drag racing, I just put on Bilstein Shocks with my Eibach Pro Kit Springs.

My goal is to set the Exhaust up like this..

My question to you guys that have done this is what is a good Muffler to use? I want something that isn't too restrictive and has a nice deep sound.

Thanks.

This past summer I bought that UMI Tranny mount. Amazing quality piece and gave me even more clearance with my TD's than I already had.

If you want a nice deep sound without restriction I would go with the Flowmaster single chamber race mufflers. They are real small and they sound real deep and old school. I have the Dynomax Bullets they sound pretty deep but don't have quite as much of a tone. At WOT though I think they sound second to none. I have no personal experience with the Magnaflow Bullets but I have heard they are pretty deep and flow real well.

I've had glasspacks on the car and now flowmaster 1 chamber knockoff's ($25 each pm me for link if interested)

the 1 chambers have a deeper sound than glasspacks/bullets imo and I love the tone

not the best vid but here you go

The Bullets sounded about the best.. the Flows sounded good, the Magnaflows sounded raspy.

Another thing to keep in mind too is that my car is going to be about 3 times as loud as them.. lol

My exhaust is set up just like in the pic you posted merv, but I'm running Flo-Pro twisters. They are a slight bit quieter than bullets, and don't drone inside the car like bullets do.

Here's a couple vid of my car so you get an idea what they sound like....

I just ordered a set of 20" powersticks last night to go with my 2.5" x pipe I ordered. I'll let you know in a week or so how they sound.

Flo-Pros can be a little tricky to find, but they're worth the hunt IMO

i dont understand why you guys think having a tunnel mount torque arm is that bad..i had the umi crossmember w/ 3" duals and it was fine then I ended up switching the bmr's crossmember and have way more room now. plus i feel the duals tuck up better w/ the tunnel mount than sticking under w/ the tranny mount. And I would have to give a +1 on the powerstick.

this is when they were dumped

this is out the back on the dyno

and you can hear my car in this pretty good and I'm toward the back of the group

I agree. I'm running a MWC tunnel mount torque arm, and my duals tuck up higher than any others I've seen.

I just dont like tunnel mount TAs because they suck for a street car. They work good, just suck everywhere else. I tried one for 2 months hated it then went back to a full length TA and relocated it off the trans.
