And you guys are cracking on me... This dude says save a few pennies and get a n SLP flopack and magnaflow... !!!!!!!
Anybody who does ANYTHING before a converter is dumb IMO.. Why would you waste 100$ on an intake.. Then 40$ for a cutout... Etc etc etc, to get the small stuff while waiting on your converter.. All the small stuff added together won't drop your times as much as a converter and it will cost more.

A converter actually robs HP on a dyno.

I hope you have fun wasting money on ****... If you want any advice on a converter PM me.

I was trying to help you so you won't get an infraction. Your sig looks big and draws attention to itself.

I don't think I ever personally insulted you tough guy.

i would have to agree with the man here. bearing you can launch without spinning. nothing beats leaving the line at 3200 RPMs and hooking, well unless you spray halfway down the track.

A converter is your best investment when you can actually hook.. all depends on tires. My car when I added my 3600 lights it up like crazy so I'm at a stand still. Need some more tire and suspension. To each is their own though I guess

performance parts = fast car = racing = tickets and broken down cars. you cant pick up ho's and get to college parties in your pf flyers

I would stick with bolt on mods like a FIPK, Lt's, x pipe and bullets and things like suspension mods that wont put alot of pressure on your trans and rear end.

to the op, a converter will be a better mod than anything else. but since you want power gains get a CAI and muffler. Lingenfelter CAI and Hooker Aerochamber muffler will be around $300 including installation

My question is why would you want more power but not be as fast?

I would rather have a low 11 second car that dynos 320rwhp than have a high 12 second car that dynos 450rwhp..

Because he's a kid going into college. He's not gonna be hitting up the track with money he doesn't have. At his stage it's about "power", not 1/4 mile times.

Ahhh.. For some people yea, for some no.

I paid 125$ and then IIRC 175$ for a rebuild on my last converter... Was a HELL of a converter.
That would leave 100$ for someone to install it if he can't do it on his own.

Then he is a ricer. Why wouldnt you care to blow money on power but not really be any faster.. When you could dyno less and spend the same money and be a lot fast...

It really is a no brainer when you think about it. Even if he just street races the converter will be the best thing he can do for the car.

It is the FIRST mod an a4 should get.. Before a lid, exhaust, gears, intake, ported TB, etc etc etc..

The logic some of you guys in this thread are using makes ABSOLUTELY no sense... He wants more power, whether he is faster or not... So a converter is a bad choice because all it does it drastically reduce ETs and virtually eliminate dead spots....... But it doesnt make him dyno more.
