I went with Chris at Circle D, he set me up with a 3600 since I plan to eventually spray. I love the converter I highly recomend calling and talking to chris.

Bottom line is Yank, FTI, VIG, Circle D all build a killer product give them a call and go with who you feel most comfortable with.

What was your setup back then?

To the OP, speak to the manufacturers directly and see what they recommend.
Back then I was running stock heads with the cc503 and LT's, Catback, and 3.73's. My shiftpoints were somewhere in the 6200-6400 area. If you were shifting lower than that then I could see why since he would be concerned about the shift extension.

from what i have seen/read, with the right stall size choice i would most certainly agree with this statement.

Vigilante>all from what I've read.

I ran a Vigilante in my last 4L60 and it was great. I am currently running a custom nitrous 3,700rpm stall converter from Transmission Specialties (for my TH350), and it is also great. There are so many companies out there that can all meet your needs. It's pointless to say one is so much better than the other. Just go with what works and what's in your budget. Not saying all converters are identical - but it's just stupid to argue over.

Dave at Yank should hook you up with a great price. I got $150 off the price listed on their web site and free shipping.

When I inquired, I told Dave my car would be having a CC503, stock heads and stock gears, and all the rest of the bolt ons to assist the new cam.

Now since I have put in some porting onto my heads, things might be a little bit different.
